Approval of and authorization to purchase 14 Police SUV Ford Explorer Intercepters from Bob Moore Ford as bid, pursuant to State Contract 1000009398
End
Background:
The State of Oklahoma currently has three vendors with competitive bids for 2017 Police Package Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV). Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase Police SUVs at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at a lower price. The Police department is seeking to purchase 14, 2017 Police Package SUVs from the state bid contract.
All vendor bids included identical 3yr/36k bumper to bumper and 5yr/100k drive train warranties. Although the lowest bid was from vendor Bob Howard Dodge, it was later determined the Dodge Durango was a "Special Services" vehicle and not police pursuit rated, therefore not being considered for purchase. With options desired, Bob Moore Ford submitted the lowest state bid price of $29,358.00 for the Ford Explorer Police Interceptor. The additional cost of requested options is reflected in the attached bid tabulation.
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Public Safety Sales Tax Fund, and in Sales Tax Capital Improvement funds for the purchase of police vehicles.
Staff recommends approval of State Contract purchase with Bob Moore Ford.
Cost: $411,012.00
