Background:
The project was designed by CP&Y (dba STV) for construction including rehabilitation and widening of the existing paving to five (5) lanes for Houston Street from Olive Avenue to Aspen Avenue with asphalt as well as full-depth patches as necessary. The project also includes construction of approximately 1,375 square yards of sidewalk, ADA curb ramps at intersections, concrete work at driveway returns, and new pedestrian signals, signage, striping and pavement markings at the Houston Street and Aspen Avenue intersection.
The project was advertised on October 6th, 2025. Bids were opened on October 29th, 2025 with five (5) bids received and all being responsive. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of ninety-one (91) pay items to form the Total Base Bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Becco Contractors, LLC, with a Total Bid of $4,617,000.00. The engineer’s estimate for widening and improvement of this arterial mile was $5,344,882.00.
