Background:
On November 6, 2025, at approximately 12:30pm, Broken Arrow Police responded to the area of State Highway 51 and the Kenosha Street bridge in reference to a young man on the bridge with his feet dangling over the side. Upon arrival, officers met with Broken Arrow citizen Chris Linam. It was later revealed that Mr. Linam had pulled over when he noticed the young man in what appeared to be a mental health crisis. The individual stated he was considering suicide. Mr. Linam exemplified Broken Arrow Police Department core values of courage and compassion by humanizing the young man, building rapport, and subsequently pulling him off the ledge when the opportunity presented itself. Mr. Linam went above and beyond by holding and hugging the young man until first responders could arrive. Mr. Linam’s selfless actions are recognized by the Broken Arrow Police Department and the entire City of Broken Arrow as exemplary and exceptional for helping a person in need whom you did not even know. Job well done!
