Approval of and authorization to purchase twelve (12) Ford SUV Interceptors for the Police Department from Bob Hurley Ford pursuant to the State Contract

Background:

The State of Oklahoma currently has three vendors with competitive bids for the 2015 Ford SUV Interceptor.  This is currently the only Police SUV Interceptor available on state bid.  Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase Police SUV Interceptors at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at a lower price.  The Police department is seeking to purchase 12, 2015 Ford SUV Interceptors from the state bid contract.

Bob Hurley Ford bid the 2015 Ford SUV Interceptor at $26,070.  All vendor bids included identical 3yr/36k bumper to bumper and 5yr/100k drive train warranties.  With options desired, Bob Hurley Ford submitted the lowest state bid price of $27,408.00.  The additional cost of requested options is reflected in the attached bid tabulation.

Funds have been appropriated and are available in the STCI fund in the amount of $540,000.00 for the purchase of vehicles.  Staff recommends purchase of these vehicles from the State Contract.
