Background:
On March 19th, the City was notified that the FFY 2025-2026 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and FFY 2022-2026 Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) Grant application was approved by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for the design and construction of improvements for the following pedestrian and bike trail: Sidepath on New Orleans Street (101st St. S.) from 1st Place South to the 9th Street intersection.
The payment for the project cost for design and construction will be based upon 80% cost share from federal Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) funds, and 20% cost share from City funds. The City would be responsible for 100% of the funding once the federal maximum has been reached. Currently the engineer's estimate for the construction and inspection cost is $2,060,000.00. At this time the City has available 2018 GO Bond funds and various other funding sources to cover the City's share of $460,000.00 for the design, construction and inspection of the project.
Staff recommends approving the project agreement between ODOT and the City of Broken Arrow for the design and construction of the project. Payment for the City's matching funds amount will be made through a future invoice from ODOT.
