Presentation of the results of the Roadway Improvements Micro-Survey

End

Background:

On January 30, 2024, the City of Broken Arrow opened the comprehensive Citizen Survey for feedback from citizens regarding the city’s performance providing public services and to seek input on a future public infrastructure and quality of life capital improvement projects. The goal of the survey was to gain an understanding of what is important to the citizens of Broken Arrow, realize future opportunities and challenges, and use the data as a guide in the bond project selection process ahead of the upcoming General Obligation Bond Election in April 2026. After approximately 30 days, the Citizen Survey closed with 3,947 responses, which are available on the city website.

The responses were categorized into 10 different facets of community livability which allows city staff to study the data and potentially create a more targeted and specific survey to glean more information.

As a result of the 40 percent positive rating for traffic flow on major streets, as indicated by those who completed the Citizen Survey, the Roadway Improvements micro-survey consisting of 40 potential capital improvement ideas related to the city’s streets and intersections was created and opened to the public on June 5, 2024. The micro-survey closed on June 26, 2024, and received 3,064 responses from the public. The goal of this micro-survey was to learn from the public its level of support for these roadway ideas as city staff continues preparing and planning for the package of capital improvements that will go before the voters in the General Obligation Bond Election in April of 2026.
