Background:

Joanna Hamilton Cooper is the owner and operator of the Broken Arrow Nursing Home. Ms. Cooper has been caring for the community’s elderly citizens since 1956.

 

Ms. Cooper’s children have submitted a formal request to the City Manager and City Council on February 5, 2026, requesting a temporary Broken Arrow street sign be created in Ms. Cooper’s honor. The street name of “Joanna Hamilton Cooper Avenue” would be placed below the permanent street signs. The requested segment is North Date Avenue extending from north to south on Broadway to Kenosha
