Background:
Steeplechase Farms was built in approximately 1997 and the streets in the neighborhood are in need of maintenance and repair. Additionally, the streets within East Houston Industrial Park need some maintenance. As a result of this, the Engineering and Construction Department selected Hudson Prince Engineering to design a project to address these needs.
The project was advertised February 24 and March 3, 2026. Bids were opened April 7, 2026 with six bids received, all of which were responsive. A certified bid tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of nineteen (19) pay items to form the total base bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc with a total bid of $823,152.00. The total engineer’s estimate for this project was $767,827.50.
