Acceptance of the Drainage Advisory Committee’s recommendation to approve expenditure of 2018 General Obligation (GO) Bond, Proposition 6 funds for design of erosion control measures in the Bristol Ponds south detention pond and in the channel between Bristol Ponds and Elm Place
End
Background:
The case was brought before the Drainage Advisory Committee on October 28, 2024. The Committee voted 7-0 to recommend approval of expenditure of funds.
The proposed project is near the Bristol Ponds subdivision located west of Elm Place and north of Washington St.
Staff investigated the site and found that the channel on both public and private does not appear to have been constructed per plan. It appears that erosive velocities were not mitigated. Erosion is present along the channel and the pond bank.
Bristol Ponds is a private subdivision platted in 2005. The City owns the channel between Bristol Ponds and Elm Place. The City also owns land south of the pond. The pond and its bank is privately owned. This area flows to Haikey Creek.
The estimated design cost to engineer erosion control measures is approximately $50,000.00 in 2024 Dollars.
Cost: $50,000.00
