Consideration and acceptance of Great Street Award from the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Planning Association

End

Background:

The Oklahoma Chapter of the American Planning Association this year initiated and encouraged jurisdictions in the State to submit nominations for Outstanding Public Outreach, Program, Project, Tool, Community Initiative; Outstanding Plan; Outstanding Citizen Planner; Outstanding Student Project; and Great Neighborhood, Street, or Public Space.

In July, 2015, the Development Services Department nominated Main Street Broken Arrow for the Great Neighborhood, Street, or Public Space award.  A jury from Oklahoma and Arkansas reviewed all nominations and selected Main Street Broken for the Great Neighborhood, Street, or Public Space award.  Mayor Thurmond accepted this award at the recent four state regional Planning Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
