Background:
The project at 3729 South 195th East Ave. is currently in design for drainage improvements of the existing drainage system. The project is redirecting most of the storm runoff underground with a shallow grassed overflow channel.
Stormwater flows from E 37th Ct. to the inlet by means of a concrete channel in an easement across 4 properties. The concrete channel leading to the inlet has a history of maintenance concerns.
Staff requested $35,000.00 of the 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 6 for design costs at the 07-29-2024 Drainage Advisory Committee Meeting (Case Number 24-011) and was recommended for approval. Council approved the recommendation on 08-20-2024.
A contract with Cross Timbers Consulting was executed for a total amount of $42,755.00 by Council on 05-20-2025. Staff is requesting an additional $7,755.00 of the 2018 General Obligation Bond Proposition 6 funds to cover the design contract amount.
This area flows to Spunky Creek.
