Background:
As the Broken Arrow community continues to grow, quality-of-life organizations and initiatives are of upmost importance. The City of Broken Arrow currently manages user group agreements with six organizations that utilize city owned facilities (Broken Arrow Seniors, Military History Center, ArtsOK, Broken Arrow Veterans Center, Museum Broken Arrow, and the Broken Arrow Genealogical Society).
The City is responsible for maintenance, upkeep and upgrades to these facilities, pays for gas and electric utilities on behalf of the users and also provides in-kind water and sewer services. As the city facility numbers grow, it’s important that we continue to focus and support these quality-of-life organizations and have an active part in their success. For this reason, staff is recommending the appointment of a City Councilor and / or designee to the ArtOk Board
