Approval of and authorization to execute Contract Amendment No. 2 with A&A Asphalt, Incorporated, for the cold milling of asphalt streets at various locations throughout the City

Background:
The cold milling of asphalt streets within the corporate limits of the City of Broken Arrow is accomplished by a non-encumbered contract. The work will consist of cold milling asphalt streets as part of resurfacing projects performed at various locations throughout the City at a unit price per square yard. Bids were advertised on April 21, 2022 and April 28, 2022. The contract was awarded to A&A Asphalt, Incorporated, on May 17, 2022. The approved contract provided for an annual contract, allowing up to two (2) total renewals, at the same unit prices. This recommendation is the second of the possible two (2) renewals.
Upon mutual agreement by the City and the Contractor, this contract will be fulfilled. It is staff’s recommendation to renew this contract for an additional year. If Council approves the renewal, then Staff will bring a corresponding Change Order before the Council for subsequent approval to modify the time and contract elements of the contract.
