Title:

title

Approval of and authorization to execute a one-year renewal subscription to Nearmap Imagery Service

End

Background:

Nearmap’s service provides a unique combination of high temporal resolution (new images every 6 months, leaf-off(winter/brown), and leaf-on (summer/green), for monitoring development), high spatial resolution (3inch pixels which allows identification of assets such as hydrants, signs, water valves, etc.), and industry leading integration with the ESRI platform. These factors make it easier to immediately deploy and use within our current GIS environment than competing products. In addition, because Nearmap is continuously collecting imagery for all cities with population > 50k nationwide, and has been for many years, we gain access to these historical images along with the current ones at the same cost. This service has proven beneficial for the past year and Nearmap imagery is to be used as the basemap for City of Broken Arrow mapping applications produced by GIS. Nearmap has 3 options regarding renewal for 12 months, with costs laid out below. There has been an approximate 9% price increase implemented across all subscriptions to adjust for inflation and continued product investment since last year. It is recommended that the City renew for a term length of 12 months.

Cost:                                                                $28,645

Funding Source:                     GIS Division Maintenance Services (2201205-540550)

Requested By:                      Scott Carr Director of Information Technologies
