Review of bids received, award of the lowest responsible bid to Magnum Construction, Inc., and approval of and authorization to execute a construction contract for Entry Plaza Planter Walls, City Hall Renovations (Project No. 151703B)
End
Background:
The Entry Plaza Planter Walls, City Hall Renovations project involves removal of the existing cladding on the Entry Plaza planters and walls on the east entrance to Broken Arrow City Hall, and installation of granite facing and handrail. The old cladding material installed in 2006 is deteriorating and chipping off, and does not present an attractive appearance for the "front door" to City Hall. It will be replaced with charcoal-colored granite facing that will be similar in color and texture to the panels installed in the Rose District sidewalks and the Farmers Market Interactive Water Feature.

The project was advertised for bids on March 29 and April 5, 2016, and bids were opened on April 21 2016. Two (2) bids were received, but the apparent low bidder, Voy Construction, LLC, contacted Engineering and Construction Department the same afternoon reporting that they had made an error in their bid and requesting that their bid be withdrawn. The remaining bidder, Magnum Construction, Inc., submitted a bid of $140,225.00. The Architect's estimate was $93,600.00. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. Staff recommends award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Magnum Construction, Inc.

Funding for this project is from Sales Tax Capital Improvements.

Cost: $140,225.00
