Background:
In 2021 the City of Broken purchased the Public Works Field Office building from Windstream, for the use of both the Utilities and Streets & Stormwater departments. A space study has been performed to determine the best utilization of the space. This project will use the space study as a guide to design the 7,000 SF offices and work areas for the Utilities and Streets & Stormwater departments.
On May 16, 2023 City Council passed an agreement with BKL, INC. to design Construction Documents for the renovation of the Public Works Field Office for a fee of $330,775.00. This amendment is to expand the design for the Utilities water testing laboratory. On May 7, 2024 City Council approved an amendment 1 for $5,500.00 for improvements to the water testing laboratory.
City staff negotiated a second amendment with the BKL Inc to prepare the Construction Documents to include the roof replacement plans and for structural improvement for $13,275.00
