Background:
Throughout 2022, a space needs assessment study was performed on departments across the city government to determine the best utilization of facility resources for the growing work force. This renovation project is based on those findings, combining the administration of the Utilities department with Streets and Stormwater administration. The neighborhood engagement inspections division out of Community Development will also remain within the facility.
The project was advertised on August 28, 2025 and September 4, 2025. A mandatory Pre-Bid meeting was held on September 4, 2025 and September 11, 2025. There were four (4) bids received on September 25, 2025. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. This project included a base bid to renovate the interior portion of the facility, add windows, upgrade MEP systems, and finishes; Alternate 1: to add a covered canopy at the front entry; and Alternate 2: a $40,000 contingency allowance, along with an $18,500 building signage allowance. The base bid and all alternates are recommended to be awarded. The lowest responsible bid for these items was from Myers-Cherry Construction, LLC for $2,282,500.00. The Architects' estimate for these items was $3,038,910.55.
