Background:

Engineering & Construction Department staff negotiated an Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with Professional Engineering Consultants, P.A. to provide design services for the project in question.  Per the agreement, the consultant shall provide services to develop construction plans for alleyway pavement and drainage improvements at two locations: the alleyway between W. Broadway Avenue and W. Commercial Street beginning at S. Ash Avenue then eastward approximately 180 feet; and the alleyway between E. Broadway Avenue and E. Commercial Street beginning at S. 4th Street then westward approximately 380 feet.

The design improvements included in the agreement are as follows: approximately 20’ pavement (concrete or asphalt) in a v-ditch configuration which will allow for vehicular traffic and access along the alleyway, a concrete curb along at least one side of alleyway at both locations, improvements to grade along the parking area for the alley at Ash Avenue and adjusting manholes along the alleyway west of  4th Street

Staff recommend approval of the agreement for professional consultant services.
