Consideration, discussion and possible action to recommend to Council to reject the applicant’s request to expend funds for drainage improvements in the Westwind Subdivision (Case No. 26-001)
End
Background:
A citizen is experiencing stormwater runoff and ponding in their yard in the Westwind Subdivision at 1304 E. Tacoma St. The applicant states that the City has expended funds on the property in the past by installing area drains on the applicant’s property and the property adjacent to the applicant in an effort to improve the runoff coming into the applicant’s backyard. The exact year of installation is unknown as staff has been unable to find records of when the private storm system was installed.
There is a platted 10 ft. drainage easement along the north side of the property.
Staff estimates a cost of $10,000.00 to install additional inlets to mitigate the flow affecting 1304 E. Tacoma St. There does not appear to be a public benefit for this project and therefore, staff recommends rejecting the applicant’s request for expending funds for additional storm inlets.
This is in the Adams Creek Watershed.
