Approval of and authorization to execute an agreement with Colonial Life to offer Accident, Cancer/Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity to all City employees
End
Background:
Ancillary/supplemental benefit options have been offered by Colonial Life for the past several years to include Accident and Cancer/Critical Illness policies. Recent conversations led to our Broker reviewing an additional Hospital Indemnity policy to be offered through Colonial Life.

The two existing policies, and the new hospital indemnity policy, will be made available to all City employees, including Fire Department personnel, with these being 100% employee paid, if the employee chooses to elect these product(s). If an employee chooses to participate, they will have their premiums payroll deducted for the policy(s) of their choosing. If an employee leaves employment and desires to keep their policy(s), each policy is portable, and the employee continue to pay their premiums on their own.
