Background:
The City of Broken Arrow is applying for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY)15-16 Surface Transportation Program (STP) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funds for design and construction of the Broken Arrow Main Street Bikeway, which is a combination of bikeways (striped bike lanes along streets), signed routes (bicycle symbols and signage to encourage vehicles and bicycles to share the road), and trails (off-street trails), at a total estimated cost of $299,913.63. The application, prepared by Landplan Consultants, is attached. The deadline for submittal of applications to the Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) is May 20.

The request is for $224,935.22 (75%) federal funds, to be matched by 25% City funds in the amount of $74,978.41, for a total of $299,913.63. Funding of the local share will be from the 2014 Quality of Life GO Bond.
