Approval of and authorization to purchase one (1) new Bucket Truck from Versalift, pursuant to Sourcewell Contract #091125-TIM for the Street Department
End
Background:
Funding for the purchase of one (1) new Bucket Truck for the Street Department in the amount of $260,000 was approved in the FY2027 budget and identified as Project 32753220.
To maximize available resources and achieve cost efficiencies, staff recommends purchasing the vehicle from Versalift through Sourcewell contract #091125-TIM for the Signal Maintenance Division of the Street Department. This contract allows Oklahoma municipalities to purchase vehicles at pre-negotiated pricing, eliminating the need for a separate competitive bidding process while providing cost and administrative savings.
Section 2-27(b)(5) of the Broken Arrow Code of Ordinances provides an exception to the competitive bidding process for supplies, materials, equipment, or contractual services purchased at a price not exceeding the price established by the state purchasing agency, another state agency authorized to regulate prices, or an approved purchasing consortium.
Additionally, Section V.d. of the Broken Arrow Purchasing Manual authorizes purchases from “the state contract or other purchasing consortiums” and provides that such purchases do not require formal competitive bidding. The proposed purchase complies with both the Code of Ordinances and the Purchasing Manual.
Following a review of the available options, staff recommends purchasing one (1) new 2026 Ford F-550 4X4 Bucket Truck from Versalift for the amount of $220,874.00 through Sourcewell Contract 3091125-TIM.
