Background:
The Sanitation Division of the General Services Department has budgeted for the purchase of two refuse trucks to replace older trucks. This purchase is for a refuse packer body that will be mounted on a chassis being purchased under state contract pricing. Funds for the purchase are budgeted in the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority (BAMA) Capital Outlay in the amount of $325,000.00, project number 195111. Remaining funds from this purchase will be used to purchase an 8-yard refuse truck and the chassis this refuse body will be mounted on.
Bid requests for this refuse truck was sent to six vendors, two bids were submitted by one vendor. The Base pricing and selected options for the refuse truck body is reflected in the attached bid tabulation. Staff recommends that the Authority award the most advantageous bid to J & R Equipment for the purchase and installation of one Leach 2RIII packer body.
