Background:
Pursuant to the Visit Broken Arrow ordinance, the Visit Broken Arrow board selects a Chairman and Vice-Chairman. The term for the elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman will expire on September 30, 2026, at which time a new nomination and election will take place.
Section 2-217 of the Visit Broken Arrow ordinance provides the authority and responsibility of Visit Broken Arrow regarding officer election.
Sec. 2-217. Selection of officers.
a) Officers of Visit Broken Arrow shall consist of a Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Chairman and Vice Chairman shall be elected by the membership.
b) Nomination of officers shall be made from the floor at the first regular scheduled meeting each September. Election of officers shall follow immediately. A candidate receiving a majority vote of the entire membership shall be declared elected.
