Ratification of Workers’ Compensation Court Order for Brenda Biddle, Finance Department Employee

Background:
The City received an Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court Order for Brenda Biddle, an employee in the Finance Department. The Court Order is presented for the City Council’s approval.
Ms. Biddle fell and dislocated her left shoulder on June 6, 2012, while attending a training conference. The Court found Ms. Biddle sustained a 15% permanent partial impairment to the left shoulder over and above her 6% pre-existing permanent partial disability, a 5% permanent partial disability to the neck, and a 5% permanent partial disability to the left hand. The Court determined that she is entitled to compensation totaling $35,853.00. The sum of $7,170.61 must be deducted from the award and paid to her attorney, Michael Green.
The Court Order further directs the City to pay taxes in the sum of $985.96 and a filing fee in the sum of $140.00. These amounts will be placed on the payment list for council approval.
The City’s Workers’ Compensation Attorney advises that there is no basis for appeal and would recommend the Order be approved by the Council.
