Approval of bids received and award the lowest and most advantageous bid to Southwest Trailers for a 50-ton equipment trailer for the Street Division
..End
EBackground:
The Street Division requested and sought bids for a 50-ton trailer for hauling heavy equipment. Fourteen (14) vendors were solicited to bid on this equipment, a total of four (4) bids were received. Only one of the four vendors met specifications. The second lowest bid, from Southwest Trailers, for a 2017 Landoll 950D-48-15 did not meet specifications, however, the items not meeting specifications were very minor in nature and will not affect intended use of the trailer. Staff recommends this bid be accepted as being the lowest responsible bid and is recommended for award by the Council. Base pricing, selected options, and warranty information are reflected in the attached bid tabulation.

The total price for the trailer with selected options is $78,683.00. Funds for this purchase have been appropriated and are available in the STCI Capital Improvement Fund in the available amount of $85,000.00. (Project No. 175322, Acct. No. 030-5300-431.70-04)

Staff recommends that the Council award the lowest responsible bid to Southwest Trailers.
