Consideration, discussion and possible action to recommend to City Council to expend funds to mitigate erosion and protect utilities in the Waterford Park Subdivision (Case No. 25-012)
End
Background:
An 8” City sanitary sewer line runs along the south side of 2003 W. Austin Pl. in the Waterford Park subdivision. The sewer line crosses a creek and is encased in concrete. The creek bottom has eroded and is lower than the top of the concrete casing. This appears to be causing the creek to divert north onto 2003 W. Austin place and has eroded approximately 15 ft of citizen’s property. The sanitary sewer line is exposed along with electrical, internet cable, and a possible gas line. The property owner’s fence has also been damaged which appears to be caused by the erosion.
The 100-year flow through this creek is approximately 500 cfs.
This is in the Aspen Creek Watershed.
Staff is requesting $100,000.00 of the 2018 General Obligation Bond Proposition 6 funds for mitigation. Design improvements will be conducted in-house.
