Presentation, discussion, and possible acceptance of the Public Safety Training Campus Master Plan
End
Background:
This property located at Omaha Street (51st Street), just east of 37th Street (209th E. Avenue) was originally used as a refuse dump and shooting range. In 2005, Phase I of the Police and Fire Training Center was constructed, followed by Phase II and the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter. Over time, various needs led to the addition of temporary buildings, shooting ranges, and material storage areas.
To ensure a strategic approach to future development, the Police and Fire Department Administrations sought to establish a comprehensive master plan for the site. In early 2023, the City of Broken Arrow contracted WSKF to design the Public Safety Training Campus Master Plan. After extensive discussion and analysis, the final plan is now complete and ready for presentation to the City Council for review and potential approval.
The master plan aims to provide a clear and coordinated vision for the ongoing development of the training campus. As with other city plans, any significant deviations from the master plan should be brought back to the Council for consideration. Implementation will proceed as funding becomes available.
The Training Center Master Plan is designed to offer broad guidelines for development. Individual components and features will require detailed engineering, planning, fund allocation as they are approved for construction.
