Award of the most advantageous bid No. 26.109 to rebuild the Crawford C-1000P Incinerator to Burnz-Well Inc. for the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter
End
Background:
The Broken Arrow Animal Shelter requested that the Purchasing Division solicit bids to rebuild the Crawford C-1000P Incinerator. Bids were sent to five vendors, and four responses were received. Of these, two vendors submitted formal quotes while two declined to provide pricing. Bids were opened on September 16, 2025.
The primary difference between the bids is whether the stacks must be removed during the rebuild. Burnz-Well states that stack removal is required to properly access the draft inducer and complete a full rebuild, while Bryant Crematory indicates their method does not require this step. Based on staff’s review and past experience, omitting stack removal may result in incomplete or substandard work and could risk future reliability of the unit. Burnz-Well has serviced this equipment for several years and has demonstrated detailed knowledge of its configuration.
City staff recommends awarding Bid #26.109 to Burnz-Well, Inc. as the most advantageous bid to ensure the rebuild is completed correctly and reliably.
