Background:

Current City ordinance Section 23-147. “Spaces reserved for physically disabled persons” regulates parking in spaces that are designated and visually posted to be reserve for physically disabled persons. This amendment will add language to mirror the state statute 47 O.S. § 11-1007, which clarifies that striped parking spaces are also in violations of this statute.

 

Specifically, the amendment will add that “No person shall place or park a motor vehicle, whether with or without a physically disabled placard plate, in any disabled parking space access aisle, wheelchair ramp, wheelchair loading/unloading area or any portion thereof.”
