Ratification of the Police Department’s application and agreement for the FY26 Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OHSO) Enforcement Grant

Background:

The Police Department has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office in the amount of $68,605.00. Funding will be utilized in the following purpose areas: (1) Overtime for General Traffic Enforcement, (2) Overtime for Car Seat Checks, and (3) Training.

Specifically the proposed grant funds will allow Officers to provide general traffic enforcement and child restraint inspection stations while in an overtime capacity in support of State and National goals to increase seatbelt and child restraint use and to decrease the number of fatality and serious injury collisions in our community. The training funds will be used to send personnel to courses in support of grant goals and objectives
