Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of and authorization to execute a long-term strategic plan for Adams Creek Sewershed Basin

Background:

The Adams Creek Sewer Subbasin located in northeast Broken Arrow is owned and maintained by the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority, all the sanitary sewer flows from this subbasin currently flow to the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant (LLWWTP). This area of the system naturally flows in the opposite direction from the plant so multiple lift stations are required to pump this flow against gravity to LLWWTP. Pumping this amount of wastewater requires multiple lift stations which require significant maintenance and often cause sewer lines/manholes to degrade more quickly. Due to these concerns as well as growth seen in this area, a feasibility study was conducted that evaluated the possibility of building a new wastewater plant in the Adams Creek Basin. This study evaluated several different options for flow transfers to a possible new plant as well as continuing on the current path of sending everything to LLWWTP for what the best path forward would be for BAMA’s system
