Approval of and authorization to execute Budget Amendment Number 2 for Fiscal Year 2015-2016

Background:
The Municipal Budget Act adopted by the City Council allows the City to amend the budget at any time during the year for necessary expenditures incurred that exceed the original budget. This amendment is to recognize funding from and provide funding for nine additional firefighters through the Department of Homeland Security FEMA SAFER grant accepted by the Council in a previous meeting.
This amendment also provides funding for the market research and asset inventory contract through usage of the Convention & Visitors Bureau Fund Balance, as well as additional funding from the 2011 General Obligation Bond Issue fund balance for the overlay of the Village Square subdivision. Staff recommends that the Council approve Budget Amendment Number 2 and authorize its execution.
