Background:
At the request of the property owner, the City of Broken Arrow is proposing to annex 7.834 acres generally located near the Southeast corner of the intersection of East 131st Street and South Garnett Road. Pursuant to Title 11, Section 21-103 of the Oklahoma Statutes, the Council must direct publication of a Notice of Annexation in a legally qualified newspaper of general circulation fourteen (14) days prior to the public hearing notifying property owners abutting any public right-of way that forms the boundary of the territory of the proposed property to be annexed.
This Second Amended Legal Notice of Annexation is necessary as the Tulsa Business and Legal News failed to publish the Amended Legal Notice of Annexation which had been approved at the October 20th City Council meeting. As a result, the legal notice requirement was not met. It is necessary to place this Second Amended Legal Notice of Publication on the City Council agenda for approval.
