Title:
title
Approval and authorization of additional expenditure authority under the existing Reimbursement Agreement for Preliminary Engineering Services between Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and the City of Broken Arrow (COBA), for the 9th Street Widening from Washington Street to Houston Street (ST2027)
End
Background:
In order to accommodate widening of 9th Street from Washington to Houston (ST2027), the UPRR at-grade crossing requires improvements. To that end, the City previously approved an agreement, estimated to cost $35,000, with UPRR for preliminary engineering design of the aforementioned at-grade railroad crossing. The project is nearing completion of design. However, the UPRR estimated funds of $35,000, required for a complete design have been exceeded and UPRR has requested additional funding of $10,000 to complete the at-grade crossing design. The requested authorization establishes a reasonable maximum amount, based on the UPRR current estimate and anticipated remaining work. The Reimbursement Agreement itself is not being amended. City Council is being asked to authorize additional expenditure and associated funding needed for completion of the design.
