Background:

The City of Broken Arrow and Events Live is constructing an outdoor amphitheater on property located approximately one-half mile north of New Orleans Street (101st Street), three-quarters of a mile west of Evans Road (225th East Avenue), east of the Creek Turnpike. This property is proposed to contain approximately 12,500 seats. This property is currently unplatted and is zoned A-1 (Agricultural).

 

The area that this property is located in is semi-rural and located north of the Broken Arrow Events Park. The developers propose to construct sidewalks along the interior of the proposed development but would like to waive the sidewalk requirement on the far eastern and western edges of the property. The attached exhibit shows the area for the proposed sidewalk waiver.

 

On behalf of the property owner, city staff request a modification to Section 4.1(n) of the Land Subdivision Code and waive the sidewalk requirement along outer perimeter of the street frontage as shown in the attached exhibit.

Recommendation:                     

 

Staff recommends the modification to Section 4.1(n) of the Subdivision Regulations be approved for Sunset Amphitheater.
