Background:
Vandever East 6th Addition residential streets were built with the neighborhood in the late 1970s and they are nearing the end of their service life and exhibiting extensive deterioration. Based upon the pavement condition, the neighborhood was selected to perform residential rehabilitation utilizing street sales tax funding. Engineering staff negotiated an engineering contract with Kimley Horn and Associates to design a project to address these issues.
The project was advertised August 18 and 25, 2026. Bids were opened September 15, 2026 with six bids received, all of which were responsive. A certified bid tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of twenty-eight (28) pay items to form the total base bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc with a total bid of $574,685.00. The total engineer’s estimate for this project was $751,375.00.
