Ratification of the Police Department’s application and agreement for the FY26 Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OHSO) Motorcycle Grant

Background:

The Police Department has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office in the amount of $27,783.00. Funding will be utilized in the following purpose areas: (1) Overtime for Motorcycle Safety Courses, (2) Operating Costs.

Specifically the proposed grant funds will allow Officers to provide motorcyclists survival courses and motorcycle safety awareness events while in an overtime capacity in support of State and National goals to decrease the number of fatality and serious injury collisions in our community involving motorcycles, as well as increase the number of skilled motorcycle operators. The operating costs funds will be used to purchase supplies related to these courses.
