Presentation of the results of the Parks and Recreation Micro-Survey

End

Background:

On January 30, 2024, the City of Broken Arrow opened the comprehensive Citizen Survey for feedback from citizens regarding the city’s performance providing public services and to seek input on a future public infrastructure and quality of life capital improvement projects. The goal of the survey was to gain an understanding of what is important to the citizens of Broken Arrow, realize future opportunities and challenges, and use the data as a guide in the bond project selection process ahead of the upcoming General Obligation Bond Election in April 2026. After approximately 30 days, the Citizen Survey closed with 3,947 responses, which are available on the city website.

The results of the comprehensive survey indicated citizens have an overall positive perception about the quality of life in Broken Arrow. Citizens responded favorably to the questions about Parks and Recreation, which was rated as the third-highest facet of community living in Broken Arrow, indicating it is highly valued by residents.

To learn more from the citizens, a micro-survey focusing a new community center, the build-out of Elam Park, the trail system in BA, as well as other recreation opportunities in the city was conducted between March 10 and 31, 2025. The survey garnered 3,509 responses and the feedback will be critical in helping consider the projects to be included in the Parks and Transportation proposition of the 2026 GO Bond.
