Background:

The Engineering and Construction Department has re-bid the Signalization Pole Improvement Project, which originally included five signal locations along the Kenosha Street Corridor, with five additional signal locations at various locations.

The Base Bid includes all items related to the Kenosha Street intersections of Aspen Avenue, Elm Place, Main Street, 9th Street, and 23rd Street, and the intersections of Main Street at Houston Street and Main Street at Washington Street. Alternate 1 Bid includes all items related to the intersection of Elm Place at Washington Street. Alternate 2 Bid includes all items related to the intersection of Aspen Avenue and New Orleans Street. Alternate 3 Bid includes all items related to the intersection of Aspen Avenue and Florence Street.

The project was advertised according to the Competitive Bid Act and bids were opened on October 3, 2023, with two bids being received. The lowest responsible combined bid was submitted by Cobalt Coatings for $169,525.00 ($123,925.00 Base Bid, $15,200.00 Alternate 1 bid, $15,200.00 Alternate 2 bid, and $15,200.00 Alternate 3 bid.)
