Meeting of: 11-17-2025

Title:

title

Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of the creation of a Citizens Engagement Academy

End

Background:

Staff would like to replace the “Meet and Greet” events with something more structured and impactful. The Citizens Engagement Academy will be a new initiative for 2026.

This program would be similar in design to our Citizens Police Academy. The goal would be to give participating residents a deeper understanding of how their local government operates, strengthen transparency, and ultimately build stronger community involvement.

This proposed program would run for 8-10 weeks and would include presentations from Council Members, Department Directors, Community Partners, and Facility User Groups. Site visits would also be incorporated into the program with various departments and other interactive activities.
