Consideration, discussion, and possible award of the most advantageous bid to Utility Supply Inc., for the supply of water line pipes and accessories for the construction of water distribution system improvements along First Street from Detroit Street to Greeley Street
End
Background:
The bids solicited are for the purchase of about 1200 lf of 12” PVC pipe and required appurtenances for the construction of water line improvements along First Street from Detroit Street to Greeley Street. The funding for the purchase of materials is from the CDBG funds. The proposed improvements replaces an existing 4” cast iron line that is tuberculated and is contributing to water quality issues. The new 12” line shall be able to provide adequate volume and maintain system pressure to serve the proposed Milestone Apartment Complex. The installation of the new line shall be undertaken by Utility Department crews.
City Purchasing Department solicited bids for the supply of the 29 items listed in the bid tab from eight (8) vendors and received four (4) complete bid proposals. Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends award to Utility Supply Inc., the lowest responsive bidder in the amount of $31,235.55.
Funding for this CDBG project WL 1805 is from Fund 35 and the Account Nos. are 035-8017-434-7015 and 035-8017-434-7016.
Cost: $ 31,235.55
