Broken Arrow Drainage Advisory Committee

Meeting of: 04/28/25

Title:

title

Consideration, discussion, and possible action to recommend to City Council to expend survey funds to design drainage improvements at 8624 S. Harp Boulevard (Case No. 25-008)

End

Background:

The proposed project is at 8624 S. Harp Blvd. in Broken Arrow.

A citizen contacted the City asking for help regarding runoff from the public road (S. Harp Blvd.) in front of the property owner’s house. The applicant stated that the water from the road is more than the drain on the property can handle and floods the front yard. The applicant stated that the flooding has come over the front porch and they have had to pump the water out to stop it from getting into the house.

This project is located at E. 81st St. S. (W. Houston St.) and S. 241st E. Ave. (Oneta Rd.) in the Cambridge Estates subdivision that was platted in 1978 and annexed into the City of Broken Arrow in 1985. The Cambridge Estates subdivision has little to no stormwater conveyance system. The streets are the main form of conveyance with a ditch down the middle of the road.

The project will be to design a storm sewer system or diversion system away from the applicant’s house and into a designated drainageway.

The project will be designed in house. Staff is requesting $12,000.00 of the 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 6 for survey costs.

This area flows to Adams Creek.
