Approval of and authorization to purchase four street sanders from Southwest Trailers, as bid under the Oklahoma statewide contract for the Street Department

Background:
The Street Department has budgeted for the purchase of two additional and two replacement street sanders. These sanders will be purchased under the Oklahoma Statewide Contract for Snow Removal Equipment, SW 500. All State Departments, Boards, Commissions, Agencies and Institutions, as well as Counties, School Districts and Municipalities may purchase vehicles from this contract. Pricing under this contract is good until February 19, 2016.
The bid tabulation includes all vendors submitting bids for this type of sander under this contract. The Street Department recommends the state bid from Southwest Trailers for Monroe MV-168-82-56 spreader as the most advantageous bid. The price for the spreaders, with options calculated in $8,531.00 each. Base pricing and selected options are reflected in the attached bid tabulation. Funds for this purchase are available in the Sales Tax Capital Improvement Fund in the amount of $36,000.00.
