Background:
In order to be proactive and enhance the community's water supply system, the City of Broken Arrow, through its public trust the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority (BAMA), is in the process of constructing another supplemental water connection with Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority (TMUA). This connection consists of a 30-inch diameter tap on TMUA's 48-inch diameter water transmission line along the north side of Albany Street (East 61st Street South) immediately west of Olive Avenue (South 129th East Avenue). It will provide for an additional 5 million gallons of water per day (MGD) during peak demand times.
The TMUA is now operating the 48-inch line at a reduced pressure, which will allow BAMA to tap the line as long as the tap is accomplished before June 1, 2016, after which time it is expected that the pressure will be increased in order to meet the City of Tulsa's anticipated water demand.
A bore underneath Albany Street in order to construct a meter vault on the south side of the arterial road is required. Adequate right-of-way is available on the southwest corner of the intersection, but a temporary construction easement for the bore pit and vault construction is required.
The City's Right-of-Way Agent has received the property owners' approval of a Temporary Construction Easement (TCE) for the property required to construct the two bore pits for the water line crossings on Albany Street and Olive Avenue.
