Background:
The City of Broken Arrow has been notified that Wagoner County will submit an application for 2024 RAISE grant funding for the widening of 273rd E. Avenue (Oak Grove Road) from the Muskogee Turnpike to Kenosha Street. This grant is in conjunction with the proposed new access ramps project on the Muskogee Turnpike that the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is overseeing in connection with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), City of Coweta, City of Broken Arrow, and Wagoner County.
Approximately 3,900 linear feet of Oak Grove Road lies directly adjacent to and within City jurisdiction. Improvements of said road would benefit citizens of the City in in terms of economic, safety and travel benefits. Wagoner County has requested a letter of support from the Broken Arrow City Council to bolster their application.
Council has previously approved Resolution 1455 which provided support for Wagoner County's application for Programming of Tulsa Urbanized Area Surface Transportation Funds on 03/21/2022 on the same stretch of roadway.
