Background:
SP-002762-2026 is a request for a Specific Use Permit for a public safety telecommunications tower. The property is located at the southwest corner of W. Jasper Street (131st Street) and S. Aspen Avenue (145th East Avenue). This property is currently unplatted.
SP-002762-2026 was reviewed by the Planning Commission on July 9, 2026. One citizen spoke in opposition of the tower citing health and erosion concerns. The applicant addressed concerns by discussing FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulations that strictly monitor allowable outputs. The proposed tower would be located on a 50-foot-by-50-foot pad site located outside the floodplain, approximately 300 feet away from the nearest residential lots. The tree buffer would be preserved between the site and the adjacent floodplain and neighborhood. Planning Commission recommended approval (5-0) of SP-002762-2026 per Staff recommendation.

The height necessity comes from low-lying topography and the need to fill geographic coverage gaps in the area.
2. Co-location: proposed communications tower would have the ability for co-location in the future. This minimizes the quantity of towers and increases project viability.
This is a public safety project to boost communication coverage for first responders in South Broken Arrow. This projec...
