Approval of and authorization to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Consulting Agreement with Garver, LLC for the Bass Pro Booster Pump Station Rehabilitation (Project No. WL22020)

Background:
This project is for upgrades to the existing Bass Pro Booster Pump Station. This station is an older booster pump station in our system that provides the water to the First Baptist Elevated Storage Tank which feeds the High-Pressure Zone located around Bass Pro. The High-Pressure zone includes hotels, restaurants, a hospital, other businesses, and residents. With this station being older it is in need of new pumps, improved site security, as well as improved access to the site.
During design of this project, it was determined that in order for the pump station to function automatically based on demand and pump curves, new hardware and process control description is needed and additional assistance of Garver, LLC is required for designing this control description as well as updating the plans and specifications for this project. For this reason, the Engineering and Construction Department negotiated Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Consultant Agreement with Garver, LLC, to produce the process control description and update the plans and specifications for this project for a fee of $8,000 for the Bass Pro Booster Pump Station Rehabilitation (WL22020).
