Background:
Bids have been sought for wrecker services to replace the current contract, which expires on June 30, 2019. The services provide for wrecker, tow-in and storages services for the Police Department as well wrecker service for city vehicles. Eleven vendors were solicited to bid on this service, four bids were received.
Storey Wrecker Service’s bid provides the lowest hookup fees, hourly rates, and does not charge for inside storage. This company has serviced the City with wrecker services under previous bid awards for several years and service provided has met department needs.
Staff recommends awarding the bid for wrecker service to Storey Wrecker Service. The agreement provides for the City to have the option to renew the entire agreement for up to four (4) additional one-year periods
