Background:
HDR Engineering, Inc. was contracted on July 20, 2023 to perform Conceptual design documents for three (3) alternatives for a new East Side Industrial Access Roadway and Railroad Crossing from East Washington Street to East Gary Street between the Creek Turnpike and South 219th East Avenue. Engineering and Construction staff and HDR Engineering, Inc. have coordinated with Union Pacific Railroad to obtain approval for the crossing and, after discussion with the Railroad, direction was also given to HDR Engineering, Inc. to provide for phased construction plans to allow the project to fit within the Railroad’s design schedule.
Engineering & Construction Department staff negotiated an amendment to the original agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. for completion of the preliminary and final designs. Staff recommends amending the original contract to finalize the design as well as phased construction plans for the project.
Cost: $593,071.78
